Week 1 - Gull Lake - May 21, 2020

Our long awaited season has indeed finally begun. We backed it up a week because of some bullshit rule that being in the boat OUTSIDE in the sun with someone other than a family member, was against some bullshit rule our DICK-tater came up with.

It was a good night to be on the water, but is there really ever a bad night to be on the water? It was good, except for the start. Team asshole threw safety out the window, and kept squeezing net boy and me closer and closer to the shoreline. Who in the hell does that just to get to a fishing spot quicker? They claimed they were pushed towards us by Sam & Brian. I don't know about that, because all I could see was team asshole trying to push us into an oncoming dock. Great move assholes. Most of our two man high testosterone teams, without gay tendencies, avoided the race in the beginning, and went to someplace other than Love. The two teams that entered Love were happy little campers when they came out.

I'm not sure where everyone went, but everyone caught fish, and team Dickhead picked up right where they left off last year. The only difference being, they brought beer with them to share this week. That means they are thoughtful and nice dickheads, and the rest of us appreciated it very much as we stood around not practicing social distancing while enjoying the beer you brought. I'm glad you started that tradition of bringing beer for everyone to all of the events this year. Thanks guys!

Like I said, team DH picked up right where they left off with scoring the first victory of the season with 35 points. They were followed closely by Mark & Luther with 31 and Simon & Paul with 29 points. Simon & Paul also had the largest fish of the night, with a skinny ass pike that measured just under 30 inches. There was only one walleye caught, that being by team DH, but it was enough to score a tri-fecta which turned out to be the difference.

We're on to Pelican next week on the 28th. Bass season will be open by then, and there are no special regulations on Pelican, unless Brett looks it up on the internet and finds out differently.

One more thing. I didn't hear from Chad & Dan that they are not fishing, so if someone knows if they aren't let me know. They were the only no show, and if they're out, that leaves us with nine teams.

See you next week!
